Women of Black History: Florence Griffith Joyner

Florence Griffith Joyner was an American track and field athlete who is considered the fastest woman of all time. Flo-Jo, who ran the 100 meter and the 200 meters, won three gold medals and two silver medals during her career. 1995, USA track and field inducted her into its Hall of Fame. Growing up in Southern California, Joyner was teased about the way she dressed and wore her hair. Later, she would become known for her bold fashion choices. “Conventional is not for me.
